Mixed Media Mapping

In this weeks session at Merton Park Primary School we began by writing our postcards that we painted on our walk last week. We will send them to someone we love to brighten up their day!

We looked at historical images and maps of Merton Park sourced from the Merton Memories Website. We cut a selection, and tinted it using watercolours.

We then used our imagination to extend the picture. We added these new images to our memory maps to create a historical element to our work. We used pastels and paint to blend, tint and extend the collaged parts of our pictures. We created some lovely new effects and really experimented with techniques. Our finished maps were quite spetacular!
