Our newest little artists

Our youngest recruits started this term with Sabrina Smith-Noble, exploring some of the basic elements of art and some  famous artists who have experimented with them too. Some of us are only just 5, but bursting with talent.

Week 1 – Lines

In our first week we played with different types of lines and their effects then used them to create a collaborative drawing with chalk on the ground. We thought about outlines and drew around eachother’s shadows to capture basic human shapes.

Week 2

We had lot’s of new people join us for the second week and we talked about the different forms that art can take. We created another collaborative drawing, this time on paper, with crayon and using a dice. Henri Matisse and Paul Klee’s abstract works with lines and shapes inspired the children to create their own pictures by cutting up images of their chalk drawing and adding colour.
