Young Fashionistas at Work

Our Easter Holiday Art Courses got off to a glittering start when award-winning Sparkle Specialist and Costume Designer, Charlene Braniff, hosted a day of jewellery design in the art studios at Ricards Lodge High School.

Charlene devised 5 short projects for this busy session to introduce a wide range of jewellery-making skills.

Project 1 was to design and construct hairbands, using wrapping, threading and sewing techniques.

In Project 2 we looked at basic stringing techniques to make necklaces, and attach charm and jump rings to them.

Project 3 involved designing and making earrings. 

Charm Bracelets were our task for Project 4. 

In our final activity, we worked in pairs to make friendship key rings.

We had really enjoyable day, developing creative ideas, learning new skills and concentrating hard on making our pieces. And making new friends too.
