Simply drawing

This week at Merton Park Primary School we experimented with drawing materials and concentrated on looking hard and describing at what we could see.

Drawing our school – it is nice to finally be outside.

I talked to the children while they were drawing – constantly asking them to describe what they could see, explaining shapes patterns and elements difficult to spot. This term we will be out and about on lots of ‘Art walks’ researching and collecting sights sounds, textures, histories in preparation for a final piece about our local area.
