Sculpt a portrait

Artist Veena Scialo has been working on a portrait project this half term – see the beautiful results of her drawing and painting work HERE

She was so impressed with how the children developed that she decided to push them further into using clay.

The children applied their knowledge of proportion when laying out the base for the face and used mirrors to observe themselves all the way through.

They added features one by one.

They mixed colours carefully, observing skin tones and eye colours with care.

The final pieces were glazed with a layer of PVA glue to give them a professional look. Another beautiful end of term treat to take home.
